Pomegranate-blueberry juice gives a unique berry flavor to smoothies that milk can’t match.
This smoothie is easy to make with just three ingredients, making it perfect for busy mornings. Using wild or farmer’s market blueberries enhances the color and taste.

A blueberry and pomegranate juice smoothie is a refreshing, antioxidant-rich drink that can be made in minutes with just a few ingredients. The ingredients for this recipe are very simple, but you can easily change it up by adding bananas or other fruit, and honey for added sweetness (to remove the tart). I like fat-free Greek Yogurt for this, but use any that are your favorite – generally plain is best since you’re adding the fruit flavor.

- Put the blueberries, yogurt, juice, and ice in a blender. Blend on high speed until fully blended, stopping once or twice and breaking up the ingredients with a rubber spatula if they seize up. The mixture will be very thick. Pour into a glass and drink with a reusable straw.
There are many vanilla yogurts available, but I chose greek low-fat vanilla yogurt for its sweetness, vanilla taste, and smooth texture. For blueberries, your best bet is buying fresh ones at farmer’s markets during the season, freezing them, and storing them in zip-top bags. After summer, they switch to frozen wild blueberries for a more flavorful smoothie.
